Cracking and deformation of building structures are common structural health problems, and most structural failures and collapses are caused by the expansion of building deformation from the cracks. Structural tilt and deformation are the main causes of building instability and collapse, especially for buildings with poor overall integrity or already damaged structures. The internal stress distribution is uneven. Once the deformation and tilt occur, the internal stress will rapidly change, and local load-bearing structures will fracture and fail, leading to rapid collapse of other parts.
Although conventional methods can be used to detect and observe houses, the long cycle and large errors of manual monitoring, as well as the inability to achieve real-time data collection and analysis, make it difficult to effectively ensure the safety of houses. The use of automated collection schemes can effectively avoid these problems. The inclination sensor recording method is currently the most advanced monitoring method. The tilt sensor has the functions of continuous reading, automatic recording, and digital transmission. When monitoring the inclination of the upper level of a building, sensors can be placed on the top floor of the building or on the floor slab of the floor that needs to be observed. When monitoring the inclination of the foundation, sensors can be placed on the foundation surface to reflect and analyze the degree of change in building inclination based on the horizontal inclination angle of the measured floor or foundation surface.
