On January 14th, Feng Zhenglin, Deputy Minister of Transport, stated during a teleconference that the Key Transportation Process Monitoring and Management Service Demonstration System Project is the first civil demonstration project of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System launched by the Beidou Satellite Navigation System Special Project. The project is jointly organized and implemented by the Ministry of Transport and the General Equipment Department. It is planned to take 2 years to build 7 application systems and a supporting platform in 9 demonstration provinces including Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shandong, Hunan, Ningxia, Guizhou, and Tianjin, and install 80000 Taipei bucket terminals.
Industry insiders in the Beidou system told reporters from the Daily Economic News (Weibo) that Beidou technology has matured and its accuracy is even higher than GPS. Its service supporting measures are becoming increasingly perfect, and Beidou can also defeat GPS in the market.
It is understood that the Beidou Navigation System is a global satellite navigation system independently developed and operated by China. The implementation of the "three-step" development strategy for the Beidou system: the first step was to establish the Beidou satellite navigation test system in 2000 to solve the problem of China's independent satellite navigation system; The second step is to build the Beidou satellite navigation system, which will achieve regional coverage capability by 2012; The third step is to establish global coverage capability around 2020.
In fact, Beidou has been widely used in China's military field before civilian use. A Beidou system terminal manufacturer told the Daily Economic News reporter that handheld devices that often appear on military channels are produced by us, and this time the Beidou system is more complete for civilian use.
The Beidou system provided trial operation services on December 27, 2011, and launched six satellites in 2012. Currently, the second strategic goal has been achieved. Ran Chengqi, spokesperson for the Beidou Satellite Navigation System and director of the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, announced on December 27th last year that the accuracy of the Beidou system is comparable to GPS, and the entire system operates stably, providing services to the Asia Pacific region first.
Due to the fact that 90% of civilian satellite navigation users are concentrated in transportation systems, the Ministry of Transport's transportation monitoring and management services have become the main demonstration point for Beidou civilian use.
The reporter learned that the Ministry of Transport recently issued a notice on accelerating the implementation of the "Key Transportation Process Monitoring and Management Service Demonstration System Project", which requires 9 provinces (regions, cities) including Tianjin, Hebei, Jiangsu, and Anhui as demonstration provinces to complete more than 80% of the local Beidou/GPS dual-mode vehicle terminal installation tasks by the end of March. After June 1st, any vehicle that fails to install Beidou navigation as required will not be issued or verified with a road transport certificate.
Feng Zhenglin also pointed out that the installation of the Beidou Navigation System should be regarded as a major task at present, and the widespread use of Beidou satellite navigation system terminals in the entire industry should be achieved as soon as possible.
Due to the mandatory installation of some vehicles, there have been doubts about "forced buying and selling". Some netizens have expressed that Beidou Navigation will eventually be introduced to the market, and only by continuously improving and perfecting itself can it have a market.
Unique secret techniques enhance the competitiveness of Beidou
At present, in the global satellite navigation market, the United States developed GPS early and occupied the vast majority of market share. According to reports, the current output value of satellite navigation in China is about 100 billion yuan, reaching 150 billion yuan in 2015 and 400 billion yuan in 2020.
It is understood that companies involved in the Beidou navigation industry chain include listed companies such as Guoteng Electronics, China Satellite, Beidou Satellite Communication, as well as some non listed companies. Among them, Guoteng Electronics is involved in the Beidou industry chain, which includes both Beidou's basic products and terminal products and operational services.
Li, the marketing manager of Guoteng Electronics, said in an interview with the Daily Economic News that the current price of Beidou terminal car mounted devices is similar to GPS. "As a local navigation system, Beidou's functions and services are stronger than GPS. Currently, the accuracy of Beidou system reaches 10 meters, which is higher than the accuracy of GPS at 20 meters. In addition, Beidou service points are deployed nationwide to facilitate customer maintenance
Previously, Ran Chengqi stated that in China and surrounding areas, the basic services of the Beidou system include "position accuracy: 10 meters in plane and 10 meters in elevation; speed measurement accuracy of 0.2 meters per second; one-way timing accuracy of 50 nanoseconds; and the ability to provide two-way high-precision timing and short message communication services. Through methods such as wide area differential and ground-based enhancement, the service performance of the Beidou system can be further improved to meet the needs of various users
Experts involved in the Beidou Navigation System have stated that in order for Beidou to expand its market, it must possess "unique skills". "Other global satellite navigation systems in the world only tell users when and where they are, while the Beidou system can also send users' location information, allowing others who users want to inform to know about their situation. Beidou tightly integrates navigation and communication
