Firstly, let's understand what are the magnetic interference and magnetic residual interference of electronic compasses?
Magnetic interference refers to the situation where an electronic compass is in a non-uniform magnetic field environment. Generally, the magnetic field at a certain location on Earth is relatively uniform (with the same magnitude and direction of magnetic components), but due to the presence of certain interfering substances around it, such as motors, magnets, ferromagnetic materials, mobile phones, and high currents (electromagnetic fields), another magnetic field is superimposed in space, changing the magnitude and direction of the original magnetic field, resulting in inaccurate azimuth output of the electronic compass. The electronic compass developed and produced by Huilian Technology has effectively solved the problem of magnetic interference. We propose three methods to solve magnetic interference, namely physical method, hardware method, and software method, and the order of these three methods cannot be reversed.
Physical law refers to users avoiding and staying away from magnetic interference substances as much as possible when using an electronic compass; Hardware method refers to a reasonable and complete PCB layout, optimizing device selection; The software method refers to magnetic calibration, which allows the electronic compass to learn the surrounding magnetic field environment and apply it to the calculation process of azimuth, compensating for the interference of magnetic field information. Even if there is magnetic interference, the azimuth can be accurately output through compensation. Huilian Technology has 5 magnetic calibration methods, which will not be discussed in detail here.
The prerequisite for the occurrence of magnetic residual interference is that magnetic interference has already occurred, and both magnetic interference and magnetic residual interference are necessary conditions. After the occurrence of magnetic interference, as long as the interfering substance moves away from the electronic compass, its azimuth data will still return to its original data. But there will be an irreversible phenomenon, that is, after the interference is far away, the electronic compass cannot return to its original data. This phenomenon is called magnetic residual interference, that is, there is residual magnetic field on the electronic compass.
The method of avoiding magnetic residual interference is the same as the method of avoiding magnetic interference.
If magnetic residual interference really occurs, there are two methods to deal with it. The first method is Curie temperature, and the second method is time erosion, which usually takes several months or even longer.
